Pumpout deck fittings

Peggy, although they are called "deck fittings" is there any reason not to place them on the hull?

One reason is when you drop them they

can land on deck or they can land in the water. Your choice. Another reason is it is a little awkward to hold the pump out handle while you hang over the side.

No reason why you can't...

But I don't think there's any advantage to it. Caps for deck installed fittings are lost overboard all the time...I've lost a few m'self...and you can stand on the dock to pump out from a fitting on the side deck OR on the side.
