Anything is possible...
But I don't think you'd feel backpressure while pumping if restricted intake water flow is the problem.Do you feel the same backpressure in both the wet mode and the dry mode? If so, I suspect your problem is a blocked tank vent that's pressurized the tank, creating backpressure. The cure: clear the tank vent.Or, the toilet may have a defective wet/dry valve...a common problem in Jabsco toilets. The "valve" is actually just a little "gate" that the lever swings to block or unblock the flow of flush water...it hangs--usually in the dry mode, creating backpressure that many owners mistake for a clog downstream of the toilet. Or you could have a clog in the head discharge line...but I doubt it. Check your tank vent first...90% of vent blockage occur in the thru-hull and in the connection on the tank.Once you've eliminated all the possibilities except a defective toilet pump, I wouldn't try to fix it...I'd take it back and exchange it for another one (maybe a better quality toilet this time?).
