Pump out hose needs to be replaced

My hoses stink as the waste tank pumpout hose is connected to the bottom of the tank and waste is always sitting in the hose. See my drawing. I want to connect PVC pipe to the outlet of the waste tank, run the pipe above the waste tank, and then install new hose to the deck pumpout. Do you see any problems or have any suggestions?

That is how mine is installed, Exits bottom of tank and rises above and aft. I only have 4 feet of hose or so from PVC to deck pump out port.

That should work just fine.

However, it's unlikely that only one section of hose in a system stinks. Your pumpout hose may be the "ripest" piece, but I'd test every piece and replace it all if there's even the slightest hint of odor on even one rag.

Thanks for the reply. I plan on replacing all the hose in the system and get off to a fresh start. After this I will be replacing my through hull fitting as its the wrong kind of fitting(fuel overflow not vent). The boat is a 2000 and have had it for 2 years.

You need to use a short hose between the tank and the ABS pipe. The boat flex.
BTW you mean ABS not PVC. ABS is the black pipe for sanitation use. PVC is the white one with thinner walls.

Yes, boats do flex. But ABS would only be needed for high pressure applications. Schedule 40 PVC is just fine for use in marine sanitation systems as long as it's secured against shock and flexing...the only caveat being that it's best to use hose if there are a lot of bends in the run. Schedule 80 PVC, which is thicker than schedule 40, is fine for fittings.

However for his purpose--only about 2' of pipe from the tank discharge fitting to the top of the tank--there's no need to "soft couple" the pipe to the tank...that would require using almost as much hose as pipe. A schedule 80 90 thread-barb tank fitting, a straight Sched. 80 coupler to connect the hose at the top of the pipe...done.
