Murphy's Law....trying to pump out old oil with a cheap pump and the dang plastic tube is stuck on something in the dipstick tub or further into the oil pan. Any suggestions? Thanks

Man that sucks. I would use a pare of pliers to rotate the tube while trying to work it out. Maybe push it back in some turn it and pull out again. Take your time and just try to worry it out. Good luck

Dip Stick

Yep. Happen to me on my 4.3 Merc. The dip stick tube is held on by only one bolt down by the block. If you can remove that bolt and there is nothing directly above the dip stick, just carefully lift it out and the plastic tube should come with it. Then you can just put it back and screw it down.
Good luck.

i agree with the rotating while withdrawing, but if you end up pulling the dipstick tube out to remove the suction tube, file or deburr the end of the dipstick tube so it has a better faired lead in so the plastic tube doesnt hang up next time.

Add a metal tube extension. Much better. Either aluminum or brass.

Most tubes are simply an interference fit in the block, and will just pull out if you offer enough force. But you could mangle it in the process if your not careful. If you can get under the lip with a flat tool like a thin scraper, you might be able to work up out of the hole. They can really suck to remove if they've been in a while. Often the parts stores have a generic tube that could be altered to match the original. Just remember to measure the exact height of the top of the tube, so whatever you put back matches, or your readings will be off.
