Woody and company: Can you advise me as to the proper size of PSS shaft seal for a Hunter 340? I know the shaft diameter is 1 inch, but I don't know the dimension of the other end.
I suspect you have a 1-5/8" stern tube, but only you would know for sure. If that is the case then a 1" x 1.5" seal will work just fine. The beauty of the 1" x 1.5" is that if your stern tube is slightly more than 1-5/8" you can pull out the 1/4" reducer inside the seal and it becomes a 1" x 1.75".
