and what is the method tof his madness. I have seen alot of people try to put a windlass on the deck but this looks like a very good idea. Is this documented anywhere so that I can save it until I get enough money to afford a windlass. What is the model of the lewmar? Thanks

Rick , Fred is a long time "member" of Sailboatowner forums he has a hunter 34 which he and his wife rebuilt (see bottom link) I saw some pics on his site which detail his anchor windlass set up and applied it to my Catalina 30. It is a proseries 700 Lewmar horizontal windlass - all stainless - 5 year warranty $700 cdn I posted some pics on the catalina photo forum page. this site has a video of installation and use (powerboat) http://www.boattest.com/46/detail.aspx I check the catowner site daily so just give a shout in the future if you need more info. Used the windlass last week and it worked great
