Looking to add a little motoring speed to my 1993 Hunter 30T. 2gm20f Yanmar. Anyone up grade successfully from the 2 blade to a 3 blade? If so, what worked and what didn't?

For my H326 with 2GM20F, I when from stock 2-blades 15"Dx10"P to Campbell Sailor Prop 3-blades 14"Dx7"P. Very smooth and powerful enough to reach max 3500rpm.
For want of better sailing speed and anti-fouling (not to be mistaken for paint but rather ropes & sea weed) I switch to 15"Dx10"P Flex-O-Fold. Powerful enough BUT vibrates likes any 2 blades. A little more vibration when turning boat at speed. I guess the turn folds the prop somwhat. Anyway, got myself a 3 blades 15.5"x18deg Kiwi Feathering Prop. What a lovely prop. I can tune the pitch to till I get the max/ideal rpm, this maximising the hp of engine.
Boat ran very smooth, very little vibration.

Went from a 15 X 12 two bladed prop

to a 14 X 10 three bladed prop.

The first time we were out I thought I had lost the prop it was so smooth (compared to the two bladed prop) I thought it'd fallen off. The manufacturer called me up after a few weeks to check on the performance and after a grilling, they wanted to increase the pitch to 11". The engine now had to do a bit of work to get to 3600 RPM with very minor smoke.

As for speed, not really any change (still 5.5 knots) as I think the previous prop was just as well matched to the hull and motor.
