Hi all, I just bought a 30' 1979 Cherubini, and need to replace the rigging. I'm not sure if what I am replacing is the original, though, and of course the boat came with no owner's manual. Thus I thought it wise to check on here and see if anyone has information on what the proper lengths and diameters are for the wires. It looks like the current setup is all 1/4", but I'm not sure that this is correct. Does anyone have the original info on this model? Thanks a bunch! Michelle

Michelle: Contact Seco. They have very good prices on rigging. You may also want to higher a rigger and get their opinion. You may as well do this correctly the first time. It lasts for a long time but it is not cheap.

We have the 78 Hunter 30 ...

... and I was just down in Sarasota last month! Would love to see your boat sometime. Technically, the running rigging is 5/16. There is actually a seller on eBay who will cut all new rigging for the Hunter 30 (type that into the search box right now) for one price. I am thinking about doing this myself. Not all my lines need replacing but it would be nice to have. Have your lines been run back to the cockpit? Your mast is 42 feet (don't forget it has to come back down again) and then you need to add the lengths to get to where it's going. All of ours run to the cockpit and we have roller furling, so every boat will be different. Go to you local marine store with a length of line you like currently and break out the credit card! Also, check out the site I built for our boat/s. Eric
