During our last club race, I was crossing courses with a boat on the starboard tack and I knew I was the keep clear boat. The other boat, a Thistle (and mine is an H216...considerably bigger and scary to a Thistle), properly called "Starboard". What is the proper response to let the other boat know that you know you are the keep clear boat and you will keep clear? "Gotcha", "Right On", "K", "I'm bigger than you" all seem like weak responses.

In our club it's "Hold your course."

This lets the other, starboard boat, know you see them and will avoid them, even if it sometimes looks like you are getting close.

"Hold your course"

is the common response, if you see them and intend to avoid them. "Look out!" is more common if you don't or can't! :)
