Proper Jackline placement

There is plenty of informaion on how to make jacklines to clip into when you are out at sea. But I can't figure out how to place them on my E-29. I want them to be close to the centerline of the boat because if they are close to the gunnel you can still fall overboard, which is not desireable, even if you are attached. I also want to be able to clip in from the cockpit. I don't mind reattaching at the mast if it is used as a central anchor point. I can't just run a line over the dodger back to the aft rail because it would make it impossible to tack. Anyone have a solution? My only answer so far is to get out of the cockpit and clip into a line run from the aft end of the grab rail to the mast and then forward to the bow. It just makes me exposed getting out of the cockpit until I can reach the grab rail. I have an average sized dodger with handrails to get around.
