Best Chartplotter?

Much of the choice for a chartplotter is based on desired location, screen size, screen clarity, chart media preference, unit functions, accuracy and integration potential. I would recommend the RC530 Color GPS Chartplotter (Part#E32020). This lacks nothing for all of these parameters. You would want to couple this with the Raystar 120 GPS sensor (Part#E32025) for WAAS accuracy that is second to none. Of course there are other options and much of your decision might be made according to price. I would suggest going to: http://www.raymarine.com/recreational/products/index/navaids/index.html Cut and paste this URL into your browser for a complete list of the product specifications.

Garmin GPSMAP 176C

I have the Garmin 162 ($340) on my 340. Nice, but hard to see in some light conditions. I have a handheld Garmin GPSMAP 76 ($350) which I use in those situations . . . wired to the 12 volt system to elimiate battery usage. But the Garmin GPSMAP 176C (Color) ($600) would be my choice at the moment. Allows a variety of maps from inexpensive Mapsource maps, to expensive Blue charts.
