Propeller Replacement

I have had trouble with poor power / manueverability on my 1983 33' Hunter. It currently has a two bladed propellor, does anyone have experience as to what the expected results would be to change to a three blade prop and at what pitch? The boat has a 2 cylinder Yanmar 2GSM diesel engine. The boat was down for the past year and is currently hauled out having a bottom job in anticipation of the coming sailing season.

I have a fixed 3 blade. It works well for forward

Check Torreson Marine and Michigan Prop

As a cruiser, I switch to a 3 blade on my Hunter 30 last year with decent results. For sizing, go the the Michigan Wheel Corporation web site. They have an extensive interview, and will recommend the correct size for your engine and displacement. Torreson Marine also has a table on their web site that may be helpful. I would do both.
