Has anyone used a propeller guard as a way to solve the problem of the raised rudder stiking the engine prop? If so, how did it work out?

It works very well.

It was easy to install and it solved the problem.

Though the propeller guard worked well, could you still completely point with your rudder -- e.g., 100% ability to point the tiller to starboard?

prop guard

When I got my 87 P-19 last year the rudder was chewed up but usable. I bought a new Ida sailor rudder and did not want that to happen to it and so I bought the turboprop guard. It works and has saved the prop when I got blown into the shore sideways. Too much windage on the potter without the keel down.

Prop guard

Please tell me more about the prop guard. I have a Nissan 5 hp. for my P19. Would it work for that motor? Where would I buy one? Paul Snellenberger

Where to find a propeller guard

Paul International Marine sells propeller guards for the motors that come with a Potter. I ordered one and have yet to receive it. I was told they are very easy to install. Bill at International Marine can explain. The International Marine phone number is listed on the West White Potter Website. Regards Jerry
