I have a '79 hunter 27 with the original (i think) 8hp yanmar diesel. the prop does not seem to give much oomph at any time and the currents around my home port can get quite nasty.any recommendations for the 'optimum' prop for this boat?all suggestions welcome.

Original 2 blade prop

is probably the right one for your engine. More oomph requires more horsepower - in other words, a bigger engine.Look for an April thread on this subject, which includes a good comment from John Cherubini II.DavidLady Lillie77 h27
