Does anyone have a line on where to get one of those narrow (around 5lb) LP Gas tanks? I'm looking for one that can fit on the rail in a fender rack. Also, is steel okay, or must it be aluminum?

The tanks can be ordered through West Marine, but you need to find the part number of what you want. A link is provided for Worthington Cylinders. If you use steel, it will rust, and you might end up replacing it sooner than you might with an aluminum one. But then the cost is a lot less. Also, the steel weighs more. More or less your decision based upon weight and cost.

Propane Tank

For my H340 I ordered an extra 4 lb. tank directly from Hunter Marine in Alachua, FL. It cost $71.00 including freight.

The Tank you Want.....

can be got from West Marine...sku # is 153445. It fits nicely in a stainless steel fender holder, sku #190647. I would add a bungy hold down. Total time of installation is about three and a half minutes. I can never, for the life of me, figure out why people go to such agonies over custom propane lockers or tank holders as these look really good, are ready made, and comparatively inexpensive. The tank MUST be aluminum or you will need to buy some rust remover, to combine with elbow grease, in the future!
