When I light either of the burners on my propane stove after it has been down for several hours, the burner frequently goes out after about 3-4 seconds - so I have to watch it. If I then immediately re-light it goes O.K. I have checked for leaks by means of the pressure gauge and it does not show any dropping over a good length of time. Anybody know what the problem is pls?

There should be a safety thermocouple

right next to the burner. It will look like a nondiscript dark brown rod about 1/8 inch in diameter and about 1/2 inch high. When it gets hot it keeps the valve open to the burner control. I presume that you have to press in on the knob to light the burner. Just hold it in for a few seconds and the thermocouple should kick in and hold.
