It has been over two years with no serious problems with my Mercury Sail Pro propane outboard. Yesterday after idling out of the slip and into the cove, when I increased throttle the engine quit. I switched tanks which should have beenMercury on wagon.jpg unnecessary as the one I was on was almost full. The engine would start but any attempt to put it in gear or increase the throttle from idle would kill it. I added oil and checked the tightness of the plug by everything looked OK. We drifted into the covered motor boat docks but we able to tie the stern to the end of a slip and push the bow away from the edge of the roof with a boat hook. The good news is that it only weighs 57 pounds and I will be able to pull it myself on the water. I plan to take the propane hose with me to the Snug Harbor. They are very close to Aqualand Marina and will probably know what the issue is.
