Propane Bottle Location

I have a Hunter 30 1989. I need to add a Newport Propane heater and the propane system to my boat. I do not use the heater much. Therefore, I want to install the propane bottle outside of the cabin.I figure the cheap way is to clamp the 6 lb. bottle to the rail. Or I can install the bottle to the stern locker.My questions are:Does the stern cockpit lock vent outside or drain outside or to the bilge?Anybody clamp their 6 lb. bottle to the rail? Do you like it?ThanksFrank

I hve a "80 27ft., Hunter that has a propane tankin the stern locker. It's in a Plastic safety bnox, but it is vented with tubing through the stern. Joe
