We have a new Hunter 386 with a three blade Max prop on it. The boat develops a vibration between 2000 & 2300 RPM's. When the prop shaft is disconnected, the engine runs smooth at RPM settings.(1000 -2800 RPM's) The shift has been aligned twice and is a good as the yard can get. Has anyone experienced a simular problem? Could we have the wrong pitch setting for the Max prop or is it a shaft problem? Our next thought is to put the original Hunter two blade prop back on and see if the problem goes away. Interested to any ideas.

Just Put Prop On?

1. Did you just put the prop on? Has the vibration occured from the time that you put it on or months later? Certainly, if the blades aren't the same pitch there will be vibration. 2. If the prop has been on for some time and the vibration is new, then are the zincs old or like new? Zincs that are partially eaten can cause out-of-balance problems and, ergo, vibration.
