Westebeke
Early 34s all had Westerbeke DS21 engines. They are excellent units with electric primary fuel pumps, thus self bleeding fuel injection, and glo plug pre heat (easy starting on cold days). Hull 75 has one, but Yanmars appeared soon after. Yanmars are physically smaller and lighter (and were probably cheaper) but otherwise perform similarly if correctly propped. Be careful, Westerbekes and Yanmars do not use the same prop because the reduction gears are different ratios. I think the prop size listed on this site is for the Yanmar equipped boats. I can't tell you my prop size until the boat is hauled in two weeks (somebody else here probably can). It seems to me that this subject was discussed before. Check the archives, but be sure that the sized given is for the Westerbeke equipped boats.
