I have recently purchased a 1987 37 legend with a 2 blade prop and would like to chane it to a three blade can any one help me that has changed theres with the size and what they think of the change. thank you
A three bladed prop has advantages and disadvantages. What improvements are you looking for in operation under power? Calculating the right diameter and pitch is a job for one of the prop sellerss. Some of them may have calculators online. David LAdy Lillie
I hav3 an 89 Legend 37 with a 2 blade prop. It can motor into 25 knots head wind, on the Intercoastal Waterway, with 2-3 foot chop, at 4.5 to 5 knots, versus 5.5 - 6 knots in less wind/waves. I bought a PYI 2 blade feathering prop, have not installed it yet. Don't see a need for 3 blades.
