Hello
I am looking at a Martec folding prop to replace the fixed prop. Reason to stop the spinning shaft under sail. I have a 2001 Hunter 410. The prop on now reads. Martec 18 inch 14 pitch RH. There is another number I don't understand what it means 11-4. I measured the shaft at 1.25 inches.
sound correct to order a 18 inch Right Hand 14 pitch with a 1.25 shaft?
thanks
Jim

Sorry missed that discussion. I see it now. But I think I have the size needed. I had a Martec 2 blade folding prop on my H34 and it was perfect. Still on the same boat. It improved speed while sailing. It's design is simple, has no gears just uses centrifugal force to extend the blades. I see everyone discussing 3 blade folding propellers. Cant argue for or against them other than I see the price is staggering in my humble opinion. Not sure if its worth the money. I can assume with a multi blade prop, if balanced correctly it would improve vibration. I am going with the same brand and 2 blade design. Keep you posted on how it works out.
Thank you
Jim

I believe the 3-blade will give you more thrust, both directions. Don't know where you boat but sometimes the extra thrust is advantageous.
