Have to replace a prop shaft STRUT on my Cascade 36. Strut was broken under sail and partially disintegrated at the breaking point making unreliable determining the forward and aft drops. The Shaft angle can still be determined with some accuracy.
Would love to get the original strut dimensions or find the original cast plugs or forge caster but unlikely at this time.
One of the only options I can see is to get an adjustable strut and perhaps use that to determine length and then assemble old strut and fair out with putty and have a new cast made… ?
UNLESS someone has original dimensions for original strut for this production sailboat.
Any other advice welcome
