Take a look at the thread I posted on cutlass bearing replacement and you'll get lots of very helpful advice. I suspect if you're replacing the shaft, you'll want to consider the cutlass bearing as well. I decided to do the bearing since the boat will be out of the water to replace the dripless shaft seal.
