During a recent haul out I learned that I will be needing to relace my
prop at the end of this season due to galvanic action depleating the
zinc in the prop. Currently I have a 3 bladed fixed prop and was
wondering if others out there have used feathering, or folding two
bladed propps and what your experience has been. Any suggestions for
replacement options are appreciated.
BTW- If your prop is the color of a shiny penny (copper colored) with
no yellow in it you might be in the same boat as I am (pun intended). I
wouldn't have known about it except for my neighbor in the yard who
stoped by to comment. I checked with the local guru and he ( who's
opinion I trust) confirmed that yes indeed I would need a new prop -
although I should be able to get by for the season with the one I have.
