Nick, use a puller and bring the prop and
shaft under tension then tap the center of the puller against the shaft with a hammer. Continue to tighten and tap until it breaks free. To protect the threads on the shaft do not take off the nut, just back it up until is flush with the end of the shaft but leaves room for the prop to move. Get a good sturdy puller that you can put some serious tension on it with a socket wrench. Here in Florida boats are not pulled out of the water every year so props are removed and installed underwater. Usually the diver that cleans the bottom and replaces the zinc collar can take care of removing and reinstalling the prop.
