I own a 84 hunter 31 w/ 2gmf yanmar 13 hp with the original prop. My question is specifically with changing from original prop to a cambell prop. Size and pitch ? Max rpm obtained? Does it wake-up the maneuverability of the boat?
Mr C: You really want the folks that sell these props to size it for you. If you order the wrong size it is yours. If they do the sizing they will take responsibility.
I know that the prop that came on our H'31 was over propped.

I installed a CS 14x8 and was overpropped. Could not exceed 2900 rpm, black exhaust etc. Campbell took back and replaced with 13x7 and huge improvement. There is no vibration and get 3600 rpm, smooth and engine happy. CS is a low drag prop with smaller blades than a Michigan type and backing did not improve much as I hoped but I am pleased with zero vibration at all rpm's. In short, the boat is smoother but not noticeably faster, prop walk is reduced and backing is slightly improved.
