Hi everyone
My 2007 B40 has a Profurl genoa furling system. I believe it is the C350 model.
The halyard swivel turns readily, and there is no significant twisting of the halyard under load (when furling or unfurling the genoa). However, the swivel action itself is not as "loose" (eg free) as I would have expected when turning it by hand (before the sail goes on). It is not as loose as some other halyard swivels that I have seen when trying to spin it by hand. I checked a sister B40 and it was the same. I have only used water to clean the swivel bearings (no lubrication) as per the manual.
Any comments about this unit and perhaps any preplanned replacement bearing action that I should think about (eg before I end up with halyard twisting during furling/unfurling)? Or is this normal for the Profurl Halyard swivel (to be not as free in the turning spin as other models)?
Rick
