I have a 2003 356.It has a Promariner Prosafe Galvanic Isolator on it.I am getting an alarm on my Line 2 ground.it comes on every now and then.I push the test button and it goes away.Maybe tommorrow it will come on again, maybe it will be 2 or 3 days.I have no kind of documentation on it so any help would be great! First, where is the unit itself mounted in your 356 Second, what is it telling me?It implies that the ground side is going open on Line 2? I have switched cables and outlets from shore power from 1 to 2 so the problem must be in the boat.Any ideas? Thanks

The isolator on our 1991 P42 is located behind...

the circuit breaker control panel at the nav station. Terry

Call ProMariner...

On my 356, it is located behind the "box" at the nav station where the display is located. Remove the screws around the wood front panel and you can get to it. You can verify that yours is there by opening the electrical panel and looking around the corner. (Make sure the shore power is turned off before sticking you head in!) I wrote a lot of E-mails to ProMariner, which they never have responded to. I don't think they monitor their web site at all. However, one phone call and they sent me a photocopy of the manual for the ProSafe system right away. It does have a troubleshooting and installation section that should help you out. Steve

My problem on a 306 (2004)

I was told by Hunter and Promariner that the montoring system will not work on a GFI circuit. My marine has a GFI circuit and the system trips the breaker continuously. I disconected the monitor in the DC circuit panel as advised by Hunter. THey say that I still have galvanic protection, but no minitoring system?????????

On My New 306

They installed an Isolation transformer. Hunter told the dealer that they were having a lot of problems with the Promariner monitoring system, so they went with the transformer and no monitor. The reason I know this is because my transformer went bad. So much for new and improved. It made a very loud humming noise. You could hear it three slips down. The new transformer seems to be working fine.

356 Isolator

I also have a 2003 356 with the Pro Marina unit. Mine alarms occasionaly when the A/C Unit starts up and the entire AC load is being fed from one 15 amp shorepower connection. After the surge I can reset the alarm.
