tape and fishing line
I just got done adding a spin halyard to my Hunter 22. We had to drop the mast, about a 30 minute job, and took off the top crane, about 5 bolts, and the foot of the mast, 3 screws. I then used an existing halyard and attached 50 pound fishing line and the new halyard to it. Used the existing halyard and pulled it up through the mast, when the new halyard was at the top we then disconnected the new halyard and used the fishing line to pull the old halyard back down to the bottom of the mast. Whole job went very quickly and the mast went up quickly. Thank goodness for deck stepped mast.
