I have a H 36 2008 and I am hving problems with the doors in the aft cabins. I have the 3 cabin verson and since the boat was new it has been problems with the doors that does not fit well in the frame, spesually when I am sailing when the dors is nearly impossible to open or lock. Is this normal?

They dont fit well in the frames and I ave had several new doors sent to me.The gap was nearly 2 cm for the door in the port aft cabin and the door for the heds I had to press hard to lock it.

Comments?

Andreas

This should have been an item that was corrected by your dealer. I would go back to him and insist on a fix.

If the dealer is no longer available, I would call the Hunter factory and ask them to arrange for another dealer to correct the problem.

NO, it is NOT normal.

Since I am not a patient guy, I would mark where the doors are binding (while sailing) and then remove the doors and with a plane or a side grinder, carefully remove the binds myself.. I do not like working with dealers for items this simple..

Andreas:

Rich is right. This sounds like a major deficiency by Hunter when building the boat, and very atypical of Hunter who is proud of their quality control. But a few questions: Did you buy the boat new or used? If new, is the dealer still in business and accessible to you?

My 356 has very well-fitting doors. I agree that it is definitely a matter for the dealer to make well. If the factory needs to be contacted then the dealer can do it. If he will not then Hunter will probably work with you to get this repaired. The important part is to work the problem in the proper sequence: dealer, then Hunter, and if that finally does not work THEN you can do it yourself.

Good luck.
