problem using my stove

My Hunter 280 1996 is equipped with a seaward stove ( model 2273 ) and the only way I can make it work is by keeping the ignition button pressed. I soon as I release it, it shut off.

Anything I'm doing wrong ?

Sounds like a bad thermocouple to me, yep.

I have the same stove, pilot will light, but the main oven burner never ignites? Suggestions on what and where to replace?
