I have a problem of return of water in my diesel universal m -25. When the engine is off and I do sailing , water returns to the engine and out the air filter . I changed the vented loop in the exhaust system but the problem persists. I have to shut the engine water entry valve to avoid return of water as I sail . I checked the tightness of my impeler and everything is correct. I am short of solutions. do you have any suggestions ?? thank you

Is this the 5/8" vented loop on the raw water from the engine (HX) to the nipple on the exhaust gas to the muffler?
If that's working properly it should solve your problem.
Are you sure you put the duckbill rubber "plug" in the right way?

Yes I'm sure of my new installation. I bought a marelon vented loop 5/8 and I tested the correct way.
How high is your vented loop? The waterline on my boat is just above the engine hatch level and my loop 10" above that up under the center sink. If your loop is lower or more outoard u may have an issue.
My loop is at the higher as possible under the sink. Maybe the problem is the head gasket failure!!!
