Hello, I have a 28 ft O'Day. I am perplexed about the roller furler? I have had to roll the genoa with the windless, because the roller furler is so hard to pull in. When I checked everything I realised the hub is almost impossible to turn by hand. There are set screws of some kind behind the take up line on the black plastic hub...What are my bearing options? Does the unit have to go back to Pro Furl? Thanks for your information. I have a brand new Neil Pryde sail on the unit and have checked everything else. Took the sail off, laid on deck and tried to manually turn the hub, and it is real stiff?

Have you lubricated the hell out of all possible binding places. I use a sea foam product. Others use Boeshields T-9, but it is hard to find.
WD - 40 is used by some, but I do not think that it leaves enough lubricant.
There are several others out there. Read the label. It needs to break binding corrosion loose, the lubricant needs to be non dirt attracting, waterproof and the lubricant needs to stay on places that move.
It does not hurt to be very generous.
