I agree with keeping the drain plug. Even though moving to a
warmer climate I replaced the improvised drain plug with the one
Steve Birch supplies.
Several winters on the hard demonstrate the advantage of having
the plug. Even though covered snow melt made it's way to the
bilge and harmlessly exited through the plug opening.
Considering the origins of the Vega design, I think it makes a
lot of sense. Especially when the original location of the fuel
tank is taken into consideration.
