Primary Fuel Filter Hunter 306

I am having trouble getting to the primary on my 306.Need some advice on getting to it without disassembling the entire engine compartment.

My 290

My 2001 290 is the same boat and gold metal filter is screwed to the side of the engine compartment and so I unscrewed the two screws and held in my hand and easy to take apart,hold the top part and use wrench on bottom nut to take apart it is a pain.
