In response to my earlier topic of my husband and I looking to buy a Legend 37...we are planning to do a marine survey etc., but are also wondering what good websites are out there on how to price / make an offer on a boat. The asking price for the Hunter in which we're interested seems a bit high, based on others I see out there...how do we determine a fair price? Is it based only on the survey? Any tips would be wonderful - thank you. --Amanda

If you're playing 'sheep', you just stepped into the 'wolf den'. Half these folks have 37s it seems. :)

Look at the reviews in this site

See what they are selling for and get a rough idea. One thing: I would think that a boat in your location would also carry a bit higher price that stateside.

Book value

You can find the NADA guide on line - link below. Best source of current info would probably be a broker, all of whom have access to "sold" prices. Don

Try these 2 options

Buc valu and Boat US. Both have websites. Boat US (I think, Boatus.com)has a one or 2 day turnaround time but it asks for specific model, State, etc of intended purchase and then gives you a market value. Then again, Buc's boats are what the dealers hereabouts use. Good luck.
