Pressure Wash the Deck?

Any thoughts on using a pressure washer to clean the decks? Thanks.. Jon

There is lots of discussion in the archives here if you want to search. The consensus seems to be no problem with a low pressure pressure washer and to avoid sealant in joints as it can easily be blown away.

If it matters, I've used a 1600 psi washer for years on the non-skid effectively and is a great time-saver.

Ditto what Don said. I've used a small electric PW several times w/o issue.

Same here it works great. Even does a good job on the rubber tub rail along dock edge. Stay away from port hole screens too. A little tough on the Teak.

works great on the gelcoat- agreed on caution needed with genuine high pressure cleaners, but stay clear of teak- a pressure washer destroys teak very quickly- teak is vey soft and a pressure washer- almost any pressure washer will damage it right away- it blows away the wood fiber real fast. We have a guy on our marina with a 3 year old Jenneau with teak decks and he has totally trashed the teak with a small pressure washer.:eek:
