Peggy, My vented loop has a pressure release valve which I think was stuck open and was releasing odors into the cabin. I connected some sanitation hose to it an T pieced it into the vent tubing that goes overboard (also replaced this tubing). I put a loop in the top of the hose and the whole system works fine and doesnt seem capable of causing any problems. Does this sound safe? It really has improved the "atmosphere" down below. Thanks!

Why didn't you just replace the valve?

What you did is safe enough, but that would have been a LOT simpler. That valve isn't a "pressure relief" valve, it's a one way valve that--when it's working--only allows air in, nothing out. It does need periodic cleaning and occasional replacement, however.
