I`ve been rehabbing a 1988 Precision 23 brought home a few weeks ago. In the evenings in the downstairs. , Ive been looking at and working on the interior stuff, cushions, the stove, table etc. Tonight I started looking at the small hand pump/sink set up. To get the pump out , I had to squeeze all the way down into the lazzarette, starboard side and reach forward and under the sink to undo the big plastic nut holding the pump onto the fiberglass countertop. This was only possible because I`m down 30 lbs. since March, otherwise I would have had to hire a grandson.
The pump itself is a "Whale", made in Northern Ireland. I soaked and cleaned it (soaking again now) and amazingly it still works. Now, feeding the pump is a plastic tube about 30 inches long, female coupler on the end. I guess it is garden hose type because it threaded onto the faucet of my downstairs utility tub next to the washer. Obviously this attached to some sort of plastic jug to supply water, anyone have any info on that jug, or one like it??? Dave Condon, Jerry in Ohio??

To all who made suggestions before, I have all inside and outside lights working now, re sealed Chainplate tops with MS tape, resealed the cockpit drains with 4200. Still need to get a deep cycle battery. Any sizing suggestions ?. I know about "Group 24", what about Ampere hours ratings?. I plan to recharge with a trickle charger maintainer for the time being, I`m not planning on getting gell, just a generic deep cycle (if there is such a thing) Thanks, Dave

Others may have more info on your water "issue", as I'm unfamiliar with it.

But if a 24 will go in the hole, maybe a slightly larger 27 fit in there? A couple more amps, as the 24 is 101 if memory serves me. And I went with Walmart batteries, they're made by Johnson Controls. Good bang for the buck. The last one I bought about a month ago was 64 bucks I think..

Thanks Chris, the physical size is unimportant ,plenty of room in the area. I just didn`t know when I`m getting to overkill size for what will be light duty use I think.

I'll check

I'll check next weekend to see if there are any mfg names on the water tank and snap a picture. I'm sure you could get one from Precision pretty reasonable.

For batteries, I have two group 27 batteries in the black plastic boxes. As you said, lots of space for these. The boxes are strapped to the hull liner to keep them from moving around.

I've thought about adding an access to the side of the liner below the sink.

Re: I'll check

I was thinking the same thing, a lot of space going to waste. I was thinking maybe a hatch under the stove,. but then thought about the heat. Probably wouldn`t get too hot on the bottom though, doesn`t hurt the surface it`s sitting on. Thanks for checking your water jug. I figured on calling Bart next week also.

RE: Water tank

Sorry it took me so long for the picture, I didn't go to my boat last weekend. I see you have one coming from PBW. Here's what it should look like installed.

That`s a match, but yours is in much cleaner condition,(unless you are using an old picture!);)
