I want to get a small powerwasher to clean my bottom a couple times a summer. Um...I mean the boat's bottom. I dock in slow moving creek that really lets the scum build up. What is the right psi washer for the job? Thanks...

1300 PSI

My marina rents a small, commerical 1300 psi model that does the trick. I am not sure about the other metric, which measures the rate of water used. I am thinking about buying a 1650 model, that is not a commerical unit, but I would not go much higher. If the spray is pin point focused on the 1300 model, it can remove a little bottom paint

Sorry I missed you but could not get the other fellow off the phone. Bob's response is hitting the mark. Too oftern high pressure will take the paint off and some. I suggest no more that 1000 but move it back and forth and not in one place. Hope that helps you. crazy dave

Dave...

Thanks...had to bail 'cause phone was lighting up. Thanks for info. Sounds like I have a choice of nozzles and not to use the pin hole one. Thanks... Gerard
