Has anyone tried powerwashing the non-skid to get at those pesky corners and stains? I've tried everything else, but I don't want to blast the small diamonds off the deck. Advice appreciated.

Just did the entire deck with a small electric pressure washer, 1300psi I think. Worked fantastic with no ill effects.

Cheers!

Just use caution around your deck fittings, as the pressure washer can blast sealant out from under them and cause leaks.

paint removal

On some Hunters, portions of the non-skid are painted grey and that paint will be removed with a fine, strong powerwash spray.

Try Totally Awesome (available from the Dollar Store & Walmart). This stuff is great for non skid. You can try it with or without the powerwasher.

Sounds like I'm obsessing with the bleach, but two week ago I cleaned the whole upper deck non skid and cock pit with a foamy bleach. One small spray bottle, a soft scrub brush and a scotch pad/sponge. Because it is foamy it doesn't run or splash. It only took me a couple of hours and I was amazed how all of the stains and crud wiped off. I did a quarter of the boat and rinsed with the hose. I hate cleaning the deck because it is so tedious but I didn't have time to get bored or discouraged because it went so fast.

Powerwash with caution

I saw another boater powerwashing a couple years ago and was so impressed I purchased the same electric powerwasher from Home Depot. Less than $200 for a 1900 psi unit. The first weekend I used it on my boat everyone on the dock asked to borrow it to do their boats when I was finished.

Powerwashing does an excellent job with the pesky non-skid. It will remove mildew on the lines but exercise caution on softer surfaces or it may cause some fuzzing of the material. You can also use it on wood but back on a few inches to reduce the pressure's impact.

If you have a leak somewhere you will find it. Take it easy around port lights and entrances.
