Poster before: Maine Sailors, Destinations Needed

I posted this on the Trailer Sailors forum with limited input so I'll ply these waters instead.

I'm looking for decent islands/harbors in the mid-Maine area to anchor in. Boothbay is OK but we like the more secluded places. A quiet cove and a trail to run. Few neighbors to so as not to hamper "Merlot time". Damriscove Island is one that we'll go back to. Sequin too. How about Bear Island, over by Malaga? We can get as far as Muscongus.

I love "Sommes Sound", near Arcadia Natnl Park. I have camped there a lot and seen a lot of sailboats anchored in the sound. It is beautiful.

Go to the Oven's Mouth. It's by Barters Island. Trust me, it's what your looking for.

There are soooo many places. There are a number of quiet coves off Townsend Gut mostly on the North side. Love Cove in South end of Ebenecook is quiet, Indiantown Island at the North end of Ebenecook is also nice, very quiet and great hiking. You can anchor on the river side or on the gut side of Indiantown.

If you anchor off the ship yard in Boothbay you'll have peace and quite and can still watch the traffic come and go yet be just a short dinghy ride from town. You are not allowed to anchor in the inner harbor. You can also go way up into the far end of Robinhood Cove and have zero other boats. Five Islands is good too. Anchor off Isle of Springs and hike there too. Far to many places to even begin to list, especially with your draft or lack there of...

why not come all the way up to the most beautifull bay of the world? The bay des chaleurs in between new brunswick and gaspesie! i am at the bathurst marina and i will be glad to offer my truck to any cruiser needing to go to town on errand, plenty to see, plenty to do around here!
