portlite removal

Can some one give me the steps to remove the port lights so i can recaulk them. Does the out side trim just pull out. Does this mean that the only holding the out side trim is the caulking ?

Gray Portlights

Assuming that you have the Gray (brand, not color) portlites, You are correct, you need to CAREFULLY remove the trim rings on the outside. They can get brittle with age. I used a wide, thin puddy knife. Others have used a thin wire.... Once you have the trim rings off, then unscrew from the inside. Make sure that you seal the cutouts to prevent future (or additional) water damage to the plywood core of the cabin top.
