We rarely need to charge other than shore power because we don't often go more than one night where we don't have shore power.
We can almost make 2 nights without bringing the battery bank below 50% soc. I don't like running the engine to charge on a crowded dock.
I'm thinking a portable 100-watt solar charger might be just the ticket for us (Our battery bank is 2 AGM 12-volt batteries) The idea is just to extend our stay a bit. Have you any real experience with those portable 100 watt systems? I like the idea of just putting it on deck when we need it. I also have a travel trailer I could transfer it to when we aren't on the boat.
I'm considering the Zantex portable flexible solar kit which comes with a charge controller.
