Finally got my new Portabote and Torqeedo in the water on cruise to Cat Harbor. towed the Bote 30 nm, no problem , put two 5 gal bags of H2O in stern. Used ski harness attached to pad eyes[big overkill]
The Torqeedo #1003 drove the Bote very easy with 4 on board in protected harbor. I'm not sure I would do heavy water, big wind, and current for more than 1 nm each way though.
made lots of back and forth trips, with 3 female passangers needing to do what ever shopping they do.
We confirmed that it is much less trouble to get in and out of than inflatables, i think that the reason is that you don't have to climb over the airbags. Hint" don't step onto the seats, step into the boat", also seems to line up well with swim platforms on, your onlly two inches away, no air bag to step over.
Also it is so ugly it's easy to find, also easy to move, its well under 100lbs WITH Torqeedo on it.
At night, I took the battery inside, if we were going into town to eat, I'd take a tote bag and put the battery[14 lb] in it.
Call me if you have questions.
