Ina previous message I spoke of speed differences on port and starboard. You questioned if the paddlewheel was leaving the water. Absolutely not, if it were I would be having more severe problems than 1/12 knot speed differences!! grin If in fact the paddle wheel is off parrallel to the centerline, is is only by a couple of degrees. Is the unit that sensitive? Thanks again for your feedback, Merrill

blocked flow?

You will notice that the Speed/Temp insert has two raised edges to channel the flow of water across the paddle. The only thing I can thing of with your problem is that the flow of water must be slower on one tack. If the through hull housing is cocked to one side then the flow across the paddle might be hampered. The instrument is that sensitive and the through hull housing might have to be rotated at the next haul out. The instrument does not know what angle you are heeled at, so it has to be the rate of flow across that paddle!
