Port light leaks

I've had the long, one piece port lights replaced about a year ago. The are external, flush mount, held to the curved cabin sides with screws. The are presently "sealed" with 3M 5400 (clear).Now they are beginning to leak. The actual surface of the cabin is not quite faired, and in the first attempt to rebed the plastic portlight, I screwed them down too tight and cracked the window.After several attempts to reseat and secure from leaks, I'm looking for advice on proper material to bed them with.Anyone with similar experience, please let me know how to cure this.Thanks,JD

GE "SilPruf" SCS2000 Series Sealant

Hi John -You want to use a high grade silicone or ATV material. A guy that fixes leaks for a living on boats likes the GE product mentioned in the title of this reply (believe it or not, that's how it is spelled!). The silicone buffers the gaps between the different surfaces that expand and contract at different rates with temperature changes.Best of luck,Trevor
