Mirage 27 - Vancouver BC ....just in the process of renovating the port lights and wondering where I might get replacement sealing trim gaskets for the interior. They've unfortunately perished and shrunk (the photos below are the best of the best). They are a rubber gull-wing profile as per the photos one of which Ive highlighted in green to better show the profile. They are just a push fit. Any ideas on suppliers for a replacement ? Thanks in advance!

Take a look at Taco Marine they make all kinds of vinyl trim. They might have something that will work. I suspect the original trim was a straight piece that was bent into place.

I'd start by identifying the ports? What make? They may be a custom fit for the port manufacturer. I just bought lewmar gaskets from CDI.

Back in the day builders used a standard aluminum channel and bent it to shape.

I couldn't really tell if @PK123 is talking about a flexible gasket inside the trim ring or if he is talking about the trim ring itself. Now that I look closer, it seems he is talking about the trim ring. But what material is it? Is it rigid like an aluminum ring that snaps into place, or a flexible material? It seems to have shrunk. Metal wouldn't shrink, but a gasket does. Still wondering ...

@Scott T-Bird, they are a rubber / vinyl gull-wing profile flexible gasket - just a trim on the interior.

Ahhhh! Now I see. I did look at Taco Marine for a trim application. The problem seems to be that quantity offerings seem to be fixed at relatively long lengths at a very high price for small jobs. The wasted material is just too expensive. Perhaps they sell cut-off lengths at a more reasonable price?

I didn’t check the prices a vendor may offer shorter pieces. Ports do use a lot of material. A 24” x 6” port will use 5 feet.

Right, for instance, would you buy a standard 20' offering for $120 and use it for just one port light? You could easily get 3 done, but I doubt you'd get that 4th one done. So then are you committed to buying a second roll? Very tough to make those decisions! ;)

If that is what I needed to get the job done properly, then I'd buy the extra 20' piece. The manufacturer may not want to sell in custom lengths, but a vendor may well sell shorter lengths. Since I'm not in the market, I didn't go searching for vendors, that's up to the OP.
