I am wondering whats going on with home owners insurance in port charlotte,my retirement home will be ready in afew months and need to go shopping for insurance. Maybe some one can recommend a company or local agent to use or maybe one to stay clear of. nick

I already asked and they don't do florida,I also read in news paper today that allstate is no longer doing new customers here in ny because of all the money they to hericanes else where,doesn't make any sense.

Nick- I own property in Punta Gorda. I have been with State Farm from Diane Harrington on US41 in PG for years. GREEEEAAATT folks. This has been an area that has suffered. Please seek her out. It has been a good expierence through all the bad times that S.W Florida has been through.

Allstate
Our Allstate policy went from $1577 to $2638 a year for the period beginning Feb 25. I guess that I have to pay back the $40K that they paid to fix our house in 2004.
